Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun went on Weibo today to reveal insight into the brand’s product line strategy between the Mi and Redmi series. Also, he expressed that we won’t see successors to the Mi Max and Mi Note lines this year.
The CEO indicated that the Mi brand will keep on concentrating on high-performance models joining the most recent developments like the Mi 9, Mi Mix arrangement and the forthcoming CC range. On the opposite end of the range, the Redmi brand will give cost-effective phones which offer all the basic highlights in a progressively reasonable bundle.
The Mi Max series was well known for its enormous displays and battery continuance while the Mi Note was the Xiaomi’s upper midrange line. The presentation of Redmi K20 line can be seen as the successor to the Mi Note run yet the absence of an enormous screen battery powerhouse like the Mi Max line will be missed among some of the mi lovers.
While Xiaomi hasn’t formally discontinued the Mi Max and Note lines the future doesn’t look excessively positive.
